A Message From The Exalted Ruler

						Fellow Elks,

With June 1st here, summer has begun. The pool is sparkling, and the lodge is bustling with people and energy.
Check out our poolside concession stand stocked with your favorite snacks, or swing by the lounge for a great meal
and throw a few darts. The lodge is for members to enjoy so I invite you to spend some time up here this summer.

During the month of June, The Elks celebrate Flag Day by hosting a public ceremony to honor our country's flag.
Flag Day celebrates the adoption of the official American flag, the "Stars and Stripes," which was approved by
the Continental Congress on June 14, 1777. Our fraternal organization petitioned President Truman (an Elk himself)
to make Flag Day a nationally recognized day of observance. Our lodge observance will be June 15th at 7pm.

And now for a brief recap of May,
							· Kentucky Derby Party
							· Mother's day luncheon
							· Initiated 7 new members
							· Pool/Patio clean up day- check out those new chairs
							· Mahjong 101 class to raise money for ENF
							· Youth Banquet- gave out over $24k in scholarships and essay contest winners
							· State ENF Golf Tournament
							· Pool opening weekend with a member cookout
							· Placed flags on military graves
							· Honored fallen soldiers at the community Memorial day service
							· Hosted the state ritual clinic

WHEW--- the lodge was hopping during May

I am especially proud that through various events, we were able to raise over $1100 for ENF during the month of May!
Thank you to everyone who supported the cause.

I am attaching pictures from around the lodge in May and a calendar for the month of June.

See you at the lodge soon,

							Michelle Langham
